The motif of this unusual t-shirt is the high quality reproduction of the stained glass window "God the Father - Stand Up" from the Basilica of the Franciscans in Cracow, by Stanisław Wyspiański.
This one of the most recognizable monuments of Polish sacred art and masterpiece of the young Polish artist presents the Old Testament history of the first moments of creation. Powerful and majestic God the Father, by means of gesture, calls ex nihilo heaven and earth for existence - from the non-absurd, the first amorphous forms emerge, soon giving way to the beginning of the totality of the infinite multiplicity of creation. The central part of the stained glass and its reproduction includes the silhouette of God the Father, styled on the Old Testament patriarch with long wavy beard and drapery robes, which are both decorative motif and ornamentation of the show. The system with one hand raised up and down with the other hand down adds the whole dynamics, further emphasizing the monumentality of the Creator's action.
The figure of God Father created by Wyspiański is full of power and power, the opposite of "grandfather with a beard on the cloud" - a populace and diminishing representation of the Christian God. At the bottom of the reproduction is the inscription "God the Father". For a believer, a shirt with a reproduction of Wyspiański's vision can be a symbol of a powerful and mighty Godfather, adding to his confidence and empowerment.
T-shirt design made with special permission to use reproduction of the work.
